Contract with Terra Science to supply masks for the state of California
Dobu Mask (KONEX, 227420) is ready to leap forward as a global mask brand. Following Europe and Japan, it has also achieved supply of masks to US government agencies.
According to Dobu Mask, on January 14, it signed a supply contract for 5 types of N95 masks with Terra Science (KOSDAQ, 073640), which was selected as the official mask supplier of the California State Government.
In August last year, the California state government announced a tender for 60 million sheets per year. In response, Terra Science was finally selected as the official supplier in the public bidding for a mask supplier conducted by the California state government on December 16 last year. The period of the delivery contract is a basic one year and a maximum of five years with an extension of four years.
A Terra Science official said, "We selected a Dobu mask product with N95 certification in the US and participated in a bid for a mask supplied by the state because the quality of the Dobu mask product is far superior to that of Chinese and Indian products and has proven superiority in comparison with domestic quality."
Dobu Mask's explanation is that Terra Science's selection of a supplier has the same meaning as the selection of an official Dobu Mask supplier. In this contract, five models, including N95 201, 201V, and 500, which are Dobu Mask's representative products, are subject to delivery. For the first supply, the N95 201 and 500 models, which have the highest demand, are the priority.
A Dobu Mask official said, "As of the end of last year, the cumulative number of confirmed coronavirus cases in California exceeded 2 million for the first time in the history of the United States on a state-by-state basis. "Therefore, it is highly likely that the initial demand for masks supplied by the California state government will be higher than the figures collected in the basic survey, but considering the slow vaccination rate, we expect that demand for masks will continue this year," he said.
