Dobu Mask and Dobu Life Tech open a research center specializing in US and European certification levels

Dobu Mask Co., Ltd. and Dobu Life Tech Co., Ltd. announced that they opened the "Asia Respirator R&D Center" on April 5. Although there is no official opening event due to COVID-19, it is the only research institute specializing in respirator (mask) in Asia with facilities that can test even the only US NIOSH and FDA certification requirements in Korea. Lab certification has already been completed, and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has applied for review and is scheduled to receive approval as an authorized respirator performance testing institution around August of this year.
Among the mask MB filter testers, TSI equipment that can measure the highest level of HEPA and Ulpa filters down to the nano level, BFE equipment that can test bacterial filtration efficiency, one of the FDA Surgical Mask certification standards, It has the highest level of test lineup among domestic test and inspection institutions, equipped with representative mask performance measurement facilities, such as a tester that can measure the leakage rate. In Korea, nonwoven fabrics for masks and respiratory protective equipment for medical personnel require bacterial filtration efficiency test values as a certification condition, and mask manufacturers sometimes conduct additional testing for this purpose. Therefore, from the mask manufacturer's point of view, it is expected that the utilization of the "Asian Respirator Research Institute", which can proceed with such a test in one stop, can be conducted at a high level in terms of time and certification reliability.
In addition, the laboratory is equipped with equipment that can test items required for US NIOSH and FDA certification, and is preparing to establish itself as an accredited testing institution that tests and inspects whether all mask product certification standards in the world are met in name and reality. Dobu Life Tech plans to develop the world's best respirator by making full use of these Asia's best research facilities. If mask manufacturers have a system to test and produce optimized products in response to urgent situations such as COVID-19 without time lag on the basis of this research, it is expected to have the best competitiveness.
